Fragment Jordan I, Air Max 2015 and Ultimate Gift of Flight on This Week’s #ClatsAndKicks #38
Happy Holidays! This was a fun filled week of kicks from start to finish. Jordan Brand rolled out some heavy hitters to close out the year, Nike premiered two new models, and Pusha T is still grindin’! Check out all of this week’s releases below!

This Jordan Brand X Fragment Design collaboration completely shut the week down. The Jordan I is a personal favorite of mine and this colorway has me hyped! I don’t often get excited on new colorways of the classic models, but this is an exception. The Jordan I is timeless. It’s the one that started it all, the one that was banned from the hardwood, the one that would branch off to become what we know as the Nike SB. There’s SO much history here and when combined with Fragment Design, you know it is special. Hiroshi Fujiwara is the lead of Fragment and this colorway is a perfect reflection of his genius-ness. He is known for putting out only the best in colorway and design as part of HTM (Hiroshi, Tinker, and Mark), Nike’s three leads in innovation. This pair will be highly sought after as long as the Sneaker Community stays afloat.
The Nike Air Max is a staple for the brand. Their signature air unit has been renewed throughout the past decade and is still one of the leading kicks in technology and comfort. Yesterday Nike rolled out the Air Max 2015 in style. We are a few days away from the new year and these are so bright they can serve as a substitute for the dropping of the ball on the New Year’s countdown. If your New Year’s resolution is to get active, these are the perfect shoes to get you going!
The week started off nicely with this drop. Three days after the “Legend Blue” XIs proceeded to sell out, this “Ultimate Gift of Flight” Pack was right there to pick up the pieces. Made up of the Jordan XI and XX9, these continue the Legend Blue theme in dedication to MJs alma mater, UNC. The Pantone XI has slowly grown on me throughout the weeks, and the XX9 balance the pack out with it’s clean/new age elephant print look.
Nike had themselves a week! One big launch was the premier of the Kyrie 1. The rising star took on the Summer as the USA’s top performer when they took gold in the international games. Now he’s teamed with LeBron and is working towards an NBA title. Another big release was the “Kabutomushi” Pack of various Air Max models. The pack is inspired by the rhinoceros beetle, which has a body both unique and strong. Nike just does it, pun very much intended. Innovation is their mindset and they attempt to do so with the release of the Nike Free SB. The two colorway drop aims to add another dimension to skateboarding by increasing comfort while retaining durability. No matter what sport you play, what job you have, or what style you showcase, needless to say, Nike hooked it up.
While owning this week with big time drops, Jordan Brand released a Holiday Pack as well which includes three signature models; Super.Fly 3, Melo M11, and CP3.VIII. Keep your eyes peeled on Christmas day, when the NBA features marquee matchups, for these kicks on Jordan sponsored players.
Although we only saw one pair of Adidas this week, it was all they needed to turn heads. Pusha T worked closely with the designers to make sure that these kicks turned out amazing. The “King Pusha” EQT Running Guidance ’93s is highlighted with finely cracked leather and a fish scale texture. The GOOD Music artist created a fine opening act for the highly anticipated Adidas Yeezy!
Under Armour is one of those brands to keep an eye on. They are slowly picking up on big name athletes and appeal to the performance driven crowd. The Micro G Clutchfit Drive was designed for quickness, control, and durability. Widely known for performance, their design is also stepping up with unique colorways and themes. Their Christmas rendition looks like a Charlotte inspired colorway. Some of their big sponsored athletes; Kemba Walker, Stephen Curry, and Cam Newton all have ties with Charlotte. We’d say our Delete Bracelet would be the best fit for these kicks!
Reebok showed off some nice footwear and also got into the holiday spirit. They took a well known Question model and mashed it up with The Pump to create a new take on the classic Iverson sig’ shoe. No Scrooge here! RBK also used the Kamikaze II to show off their holiday spirit, taking inspiration from Christmas lights.
