Tianjin Foamposites, Luxury Goods NB 997’s and Kobe X’s on This Week’s #ClatsAndKicks #44
Say hello to one of the busiest times of the year in kicks. Brands are catering to many events: Valentine’s Day, Black History Month, Chinese New Year, and the NBA All-Star Weekend. Last week was a hefty drop and it’s continuing on into this month. We have much to cover, from the Tianjin Foamposites to a handful of brand new basketball sig’ shoes, then finally to the boutique collabs. KEEP UP!!
Once in a while we are treated with a pair of kicks that are more so a piece of art. Introducing the latest Foamposite: the Tianjin’s. Fish and lotus graphics overlay a fish scale backdrop, fish scaling details also go along the lace eyelet panel. These are definitely refreshing, bringing a whole new look that has never been done. Rumor has it that these will be very exclusive, being in the same tier as the Galaxy and Oregon Foams.
Concepts is a well oiled machine! They are definitely one of the leaders in amazing collab work as of late. Fresh off of their “8-Ball” Asics, they follow it up with the “Luxury Goods” New Balance 997’s. The all orange upper pops with a luxurious vibe, made of various high quality materials adding to its name.
Kobe will always have an appearance on the hardwood, regardless if he is injured or not. Sidelined at the moment, he debuted his 10th signature Nike shoe. They revert back to pre-Kobe 9 days with the low cut ankle support. With these carry the burden of many questions: are the Kobe days coming to an end? This colorway, nicknamed 5AM Flight, is inspired by Kobe’s ability to overcome any obstacle thrown at him. So hopefully this is a sign of another return. The NBA isn’t quite ready for a Kobe-less season.
Highlighting Nike drops for the week are a ton of runners. As always, they release in many colorways to suit any style. A second pair of Foams quietly make their way along with some nice LeBron’s and KD’s.
Adidas made moves this week. In related news, they released an RSVP app for the upcoming Yeezy release and a mysterious Yeezy website, http://yeezy.supply/, to heighten the anticipation. In the meantime, the three stripes keep us busy with premium collab work, new signature drops, and a handful of retros.
Not too much from Jordan Brand this week. They look to break boundaries with the new Flight Runner’s and drop a GS exclusive that’s ready for V-Day.
Brooks makes a HOT first appearance on #ClatsAndKicks with a Hanon collab. The Chariot gets a “Scotch Bonnet” colorway that sports peppery reds and greens.
Reebok has a nice little batch to kick off February. Get your red envelopes ready, with the Chinese New Year inspired pack of Instapumps and Ventilators. The Ventilators don’t stop there, size? works with them to bring a two pair “Re-Upholstered” Pack.
Saucony gets BERRY nice with the Shadow 5000’s. Which pair would you PICK? The Blueberry or Blackberry?
