#ClatsAndKicks Vol. 5

First of all, we have to wish the one and only Michael Jordan a Happy Belated Birthday! His line took the shoe game to another level and it continues to excel. Not only did he deliver amazing sneakers, he gave every one of them their own story and inspiration. And quite frankly, there wouldn’t be much for me to write about if it weren’t for him!

February keeps on giving as we have a whole week of amazing releases. The Jordan 10 Powder’s highlight the week, Carbon Fiber Flightposites return, the Air Max 90 gets a makeover, and crazy collabs get in the mix.

The Jordan 10 is inspired by Jordan’s career. Literally, there’s a list of accomplishments on the sole. The Powder Blue Jordan X is one of its most famous original colorways. These are a quick sell out shoe, as it’s a first time retro for this colorway. We saw the Chicago’s come back from the original colorways, now the Powder’s. Can we expect the Jordan X City Series Pack in the near future?”

The Stan Smiths have been Adidas’ go-to shoe as of late. We’ve seen them re-release in the basic colorways, then premium materials and now it’s going through a collab phase. Last week we saw the CLOT x Stan Smith and this week we get the Mastermind x Stan Smith. Mastermind is a popular clothing company in Japan. They have been out of the game since Spring/Summer of last year. They are coming back for a limited time and making for the perfect occasion to resurrect the Stan Smith’s. The slick black leather on these are perforated with X’s to represent Mastermind’s skull & crossbones logo, which can also be found on the tongue.”

The Air Max 90 is a pair of kicks that can have success merely by re-releasing classic colors. But that is never the case with Nike, they always raise the bar and reinvent themselves. For this rendition of the classic Air Max 90, Nike slapped on a translucent sole along with a geometric looking pattern across the whole uppers of the shoe, hence the name Nike Air Max 90 “ICE”.”
