Honoring Juneteenth
As a brand, we believe that equality is essential to the journey of humankind. Everyone deserves the same opportunities regardless of race, gender, socioeconomic status, disability or identity. That’s why today we’re honoring Juneteenth, the history behind it and where we stand today.
Juneteenth is the anniversary of the ending of slavery in the United States. On June 19th, 1865, the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, arrived at Galveston TX with the news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. We’ve come a long way since that time, yet it’s still vital in our changing world to take a moment of pause for the past and think about what we can do to continue our efforts to achieve equality in the world we live in today.
Today, take the time for reflection and self-improvement, with respect for all cultures. How can we continue our march forward in ensuring equality for all?
