Breast Cancer Awareness Month Spotlight: Shaney Jo Darden

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we’re spotlighting the Keep A Breast Foundation, whose mission is to empower young people around the world with breast health education and support. The idea was sparked when founder, Shaney Jo Darden’s friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. A designer in skateboard culture, Shaney created breast casts to capture and communicate the challenges of breast cancer in order to show her support and raise money for her friend.

Now, many years later, the foundation is still going strong raising money and awareness within the community. Even more, the foundation launched an app designed to teach women how to do a self-check, set reminders and connect with a doctor if necessary. And for the first time, the app will now connect users who think they may have discovered something during their check with a telehealth medical professional, giving instant support and information.

We believe so strongly in their mission, that we designed an entire collection of Keep A Breast bracelets. Rastaclat in partnership with the Seek the Positive Foundation will donate $1 from each bracelet sold in the Keep A Breast Collection to the Keep A Breast Foundation.
